Runway ready 🛫 — or runway ready 👗🪡? On the heels of #FashionWeek, here's our own historically-accurate #fitcheck. In 1943, fashion designer and Seattle native Muriel King developed Flying Fortress Fashions, a new clothing line tailored to the thousands of women entering the workforce during World War II. While not an official uniform, Muriel spent hours interviewing employees, factory workers and plant engineers to make sure the garments met the safety standards required to work in a manufacturing environment.
